If you have a child or a teenager with food allergies, you probably know that navigating the holidays can be challenging. The parties, the food: There are a lot of allergens served up this time of year!

At Midwest Allergy, we know how difficult it can be and we’re here to make one thing on your holiday to-do list easy: Here are some non-food stocking stuffer ideas! Fill your child’s stocking with non-food treats so cool that he or she won’t miss the candy. Trust us!

Read on for our best ideas for all ages.

Art Supplies

Markers, colored pencils, stickers, washi tape: What child or teen doesn’t love fresh new art supplies! You could even throw in a new coloring book or sketch pad.

Toothbrush and toothpaste

So this one might not seem super exciting, but if you go and get a fancy light-up toothbrush that you normally say no to at the store, or if you pick a brush with your child’s favorite character, we bet he or she will brush up happily twice a day. Win-win!

Mini Lego sets or minifigures

What kid doesn’t love a new little Lego set or minifigure? Most children love to build and a tiny set will fit nicely.

The latest DVD

Lots of cute kid-focused movies came out this year (Finding Dory, anyone?) so this is a great time to buy your child’s fave for your DVD library. If your child likes his or her tablet, some other tech non-food stocking stuffer ideas are gift cards for new music or earbuds.

Bubbles, glow sticks and bath toys

Putting together some fun stuff for the bath (glow sticks in a dark bathroom make for a fun tub session!) will please even the pickiest kid. Rub a dub, toys in the tub!

Socks

Who doesn’t love a fun new pair of socks? Pick the wildest ones you can and let your kids mix and match. If your kid doesn’t need new socks, some other similar non-food stocking stuffer ideas are new gloves or a new hat.

Bandaids

Children love Bandaids and a box with their favorite characters is sure to be a big hit – booboos or no.
